Plymouth . Could I afford a Motorcycle on my part time job?

Could I afford a Motorcycle on my part time job? I'm currently 19, turning 20 in a couple months. I am a college student right now living for free with my grandparents. I get paid weekly and typically make about 200 - 250 a week. I have pretty much no bills. My car is paid off and as long as I stay in college, my parents are paying for the insurance on it. My only bills are my 70 dollar a month cell phone and the 60 bucks a week my SUV gobbles down. This is actually the main reason I want to get a bike. I get maybe 12-15 mpg in my explorer and do alot of commuting to/from school and work which are both about 15-20 minutes away from where I live. I figure I make at LEAST 800-100 a month and 300 or so of that is spoken for w/ fuel and my phone so that leaves me 4-500 to work with. What can I expect to pay per month on a bike? What sort of interest rates would I be looking at? For an example of what I'm looking at right now a dealer near my house has a 2005 CBR600RR for $5,300 USD. Also, how long should I look to finance a bike for? 2? 3 years? car insurance.

Plymouth . How to Repair Brake Drums

You can repair worn-out brake drums by replacing the brake shoes. This increases the stopping power of your rear brakes because the pads are what create the friction against the inside of the brake drums. To repair the brake drums you need a brake drum puller. If you don't have one, you can rent or purchase one from most automotive parts supply retailers.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Jack
Jack stand
Tire iron
Marking paint
Socket set
Brake drum puller
Pliers
Rubber mallet

Step by Step :
1
Place a jack under the frame right in front of the rear tire, jack the vehicle up and place it on a jack stand. Remove the lug nuts using a tire iron and pull the wheel off the rear of the vehicle to expose the brake drum.
2
Put a strip of marking paint on the back of the brake drum. Make sure you get the paint on the back of the drum and the axle hub. This will help you to line up the brake drum when you put it back on.
3
Place the three fingers of the brake drum puller around the back side of the brake drum, and then place the threaded spine of the brake drum puller against the hub located in the center of the brake drum. Turn the threaded spine using a socket and ratchet and pull the brake drum off the axle hub.
4
Remove the springs that secure the brake shoes onto the axle hub using a pair of pliers and discard the brake shoes.
5
Place the new brake shoes onto the axle hub and secure them into place using the springs and pliers.
6
Place the brake drum onto the axle hub and line up the paint markings on the back. Pound the drum onto the hub using the rubber mallet.
7
Place the wheel onto the axle hub, secure it using the lug nuts and tire iron and then remove the vehicle from the jack stand.
8
Repeat the process on the other rear wheel.

Plymouth . 1990 C2500 Brake Shoe Replacement Instructions

The 1990 C2500 Chevy Silverado uses drum brakes on the rear axle to help stop the vehicle under heavy loads. Drum brakes actually complete 20 percent of the braking when you are driving forward, so they wear our far less often than the front disc brakes. When they do wear out, generally you only need to replace the brake shoes. If you replace the front disc brakes every 20,000 miles, you can expect to change the brake shoes every 60,000 miles.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Jack
Jack stand
Wheel blocks
Tire iron
Marking paint
Brake drum puller
Pliers
Rubber mallet

Step by Step :
1
Place a jack under the C2500's frame just in front of the rear driver's side tire. Jack the vehicle up, place a jack stand under the frame and then lower the Silverado onto the jack stand. Place wheel blocks around the opposite tire.
2
Remove the lug nuts using the tire iron, and pull the wheel off the axle hub.
3
Place a strip of paint on the back of the brake drum and axle hub. This allows you to orientate the brake drum in the correct location when putting the brake back together. If you plan to use new brake drums as well, you can skip this step.
4
Place the three fingers of the brake drum puller on the back of the brake drum, and place the threaded spine against the front of the axle hub. Turn the spine clockwise to pull the brake from off the axle hub.
5
Remove the springs that secure each of the two brake shoes onto the axle hub using a pair of pliers.
6
Pull the old shoes off the hub, and place the new shoes onto the hub. Secure them using the springs and pliers.
7
Place the brake drum onto the wheel hub, and line up the paint mark on the back of the drum and hub. Pound the brake drum onto the hub using a rubber mallet.
8
Place the wheel onto the axle hub, and secure it using the lug nuts and tire iron.
9
Jack the Silverado up, remove the jack stand and lower the vehicle to the ground. Remove the wheel blocks.

Step by Step :
10
Duplicate the process on the passenger-side rear brake.

If you managed to goof up your headlight adjusting screws, or if you just aren't sure whether your headlights are properly adjusted, there's an easy check that you can do. When you're driving on a fairly straight road at night, check to see whether your headlights appear to be shining straight ahead and are low enough to illuminate enough of the road in front of you to enable you to stop safely if an obstruction appears. Be sure to check your headlights on both high and low beams. y ^ You can also have headlights checked out and adjusted professionally. Auto "~~~ repair facilities often have headlight-aiming equipment to check and set your headlights in accordance with state laws. Some are certified Motor Vehicle Bureau inspection stations. Note, though, that if you go to a repair facility that does MVB inspections just to see whether your headlights are aimed properly, you'll have to pay them for checking the lights and for an inspection certificate whether or not they have to adjust your lights. A cheaper way to check out headlight adjustment is to look for a highway patrol station near your home. They either have the equipment to check your headlights for you, or they can tell you where their current highway checkpoints are, so you can check them yourself. Of course, if the highway patrol finds that your headlights aren't in focus or find anything wrong with your car's emissions, you have to get the trouble fixed within a stipulated period or face a fine. (Be positive about this; it's to your benefit to correct a situation that can cause an accident or pollute the environment.)

If you can fix the problem yourself by turning the adjustment screws shown back in Figure 12-54, go back to the checkpoint afterward for an okay. w! " Be sure to get a certificate saying that the lights have been adjusted and meet the proper standards. This certificate is usually part of the price. Checking other electronic devices If you have trouble with your defroster, heater, anti-theft devices, or stereo system, get professional help. Later, if you turn into a confirmed do-it-yourselfer, you can find books that deal with these repairs. Do not attempt to work on your air conditioner under any circumstances. It contains refrigerant under pressure that can blind you if it escapes. For ser vice or repairs, head to the dealership or to an air-conditioning specialist. Chapter 13

Installing a new or rebuilt carburetor • Knowing what jobs to pass off to professionals and protecting yourself from overzealous mechanics fuel system problems may occur for a variety of reasons. Some remedies, such as replacing a fuel filter, are relatively inexpensive. Others, such as replacing a fuel pump, are costly. Mechanics often try the more expensive solutions first and work backwards to the cheaper ones. You end up paying for all the time, labor, and parts involved. You can avoid this by using the easy instructions in this chapter to check things out before heading for professional help. If you can do the job yourself, great! If you can't, you may save time and money anyway by being able to communicate better with your technician and by suggesting that the less-expensive possible solutions be pursued first. At the very least, try to do the simple adjustments and maintenance tasks (such as changing the air filter) yourself. Doing so will cost you little in time and money and may prevent major repair bills. If your vehicle has fuel injection, you can skip the entire "Tuning Your Carburetor" section of this chapter. Just be sure to have your car checked periodically to ensure that it's performing well.
